"this living, Being"

Step 1: Live in an energised state of creative momentum.

In my creative practice, I'm obsessed with the question of - if I distill something to its core, what am I left with?

The idea of revealing the essence of something, its purest vibration, is mesmerising to me. So often in art, from reduction comes expansion. From limitation comes freedom.

How can I paint the truth of a moment, a memory, a connection, a feeling?

The closest I've come to capturing this, this essence, is held in the closing line of one of my poems.

Three words -

'this living, Being'.

That's it. Three words.

For me, as a human being - a human, being - I'm very excited by the idea of 'this living, Being'. That's all we have. Those words are the truth. The essence of human experience, of the soul, of the Self. It's everything, distilled.

That's what I strive for in my art.

My paintings are a cumulation of my lived, and un-lived, experiences. I see my work as an incredibly healing modality; a meditation, interconnecting spheres of being, and always bound by the Spirit of unconditional love. Holding not only a space for myself, but for others.
