Geoids Musical Theatre Presents: 42nd Street

Geoids Musical Theatre is delighted to announce tickets are now on sale for their upcoming production of 42nd Street.

42nd Street is a cornerstone of Golden Age Musical Theatre, a high glitz and glamour musical about a New York City cast and crew putting on a new Broadway show!

In 1933 New York City, aspiring dancer Peggy Sawyer arrives too late to audition for Pretty Lady, a new Broadway musical directed by the uncompromising Julian Marsh. Initially turned away, Peggy earns a spot in the chorus after impressing Julian with her talent during an impromptu rehearsal. Tensions mount as the show’s fading star, Dorothy Brock, supported by her financier boyfriend Abner Dillon, struggles with the rest of the cast. During previews in Philadelphia, Dorothy is injured, jeopardizing the production. Julian convinces Peggy to step into the lead role, pushing her through an intense 36-hour rehearsal. On opening night, Peggy delivers a stunning performance, saving the show and becoming an overnight Broadway star.

This two-act musical, sometimes dubbed “the Broadway musical for Broadway lovers,” captures the grit and glamour of showbiz, combining electrifying ensemble numbers with poignant moments to showcase the ambition, sacrifice, and resilience behind the pursuit of stardom. It’s a privilege for this production team to bring this monumental musical to life, celebrating both Geoid’s rich history and the 10-year anniversary of one of its past representations.
